Ratio Blog- Sean Gallagher's
The thing that I chose to do was inside a car commercial for a Cadillac Escalade Hybrid. In this commercial, it talks about how the car gets an estimated 20 miles per gallon in the city. This is quite amazing for a car of this size and also helps the environment a lot. The 20 miles per gallon would be represented by an equation that looks like this, 20/1 or 20:1.
(P.S. I know I told you I would do this during my study hall after our class, but my computer wouldn't work, sorry!)

Ratios in life
This article is about gender disparity higher education. It is a concern to many that there is an uneven gender ratio among schools, and the assumption that girl students need boy student to have a successful learning environment because many years ago girls only looked to get married, and did not want to further their education. UNC for example, has more female students than male students, even though it is a school that previously didn't admit women at all. This article was a very good example of a real life ratio: boys to girls in higher education.

This article describes how widescreen televisions today have a 16 to 9 ratio. This mean that for every 16 units long, the television will be units high. This differs from the original television of 4 to 3 ratio. This ratio gives the television its name because it is almost twice as wide as it is high.
